Albert Franklin Carlock was born in 1917 to Moses F. and Nora (Donahue) Carlock. Albert joined in October 1942, received instruction as a radio operator in Chicago, and served as radio operator and gunner in 766th Bomb Squadron, 461st Bombardment Group (H), Fifteenth Air Force, after his assignment there April 11, 1944. His B-24 Liberator was named Heaven Can Wait, and was piloted by Lt. Samuel M. Zive, crew #59-0
