461st Bombardment Group (H)

2003 Reunion

The 2003 reunion of the 461st Bombardment Group was held in San Diego, CA.  The group gathered on October 8 at the registration, saw the sights of San Diego during the next few days, met for their traditional dinner Saturday night and concluded the reunion with their Memorial Breakfast Sunday morning, October 12.

The reunion was held at the San Diego Four Points Sheraton Resort.

Early arrivals sat around the lobby discussing old times and catching up on recent activities.

The hospitality room was well attended both for registration and for the sharing of stories.

Board of Directors met Friday afternoon to discuss business of the Association.

A refueling ship in the harbour. We were told that the blue and yellow stripe indicated it was a Navy ship operated by civilians.

We had a great lunch at Tom Ham's Lighthouse.

Saturday afternoon we went up Mount Soledad where we were told you can buy a memorial plaque to honor a WWII veteran for $600.

The reunion reunited three members of a crew - Walter Fries, Larry Rosenberg and Harld Roup.
